AromaTherapy for itching and allergies
Insects are particularly sensitive to aromatic molecules because they communicate essentially through chemical messages. Because of this, various plants produce aromas in order to attract them and make to participate in their fecundation process. Others, on the contrary, in order to keep them away, produce repellent and insecticide essential oils that are capable of disturbing their nervous system or their enzymatic processes.
We can also use the essential oils of these plants in order to protect ourselves against those insects that are thirsty of our blood, diffusing the aromas in the atmosphere or rubbing them on our bodies.
Mosquitoes are the most common and annoying of these small enemies, but they are also among the most dangerous for our health. Malaria is transmitted by the Anopheles mosquito that lives in more than one hundred countries and continues to spread to others and various serious diseases such as Dengue fever are transmitted by these small “sharks”. Mosquitoes are not only a disturbance to us but they are a serious danger and the best prevention in their case is to keep them away as far as possible.
In the last few decades, aromatherapy researches have demonstrated that the power of the essences is not limited to repelling insects. Some essential oils can also neutralize poisons by molecular combination and can kill viruses and the microbes that they transport.
The essence that possesses all these properties is Lavender, and it is the base of “Anti sharks”. The other ingredients (Geranium, Mint, etc…) reinforce its repellent property. Geranium possesses moreover important anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties (cortisone-like).
All these essences are without irritating effect on the skin and therefore “Anti sharks” can be spread on the body for the most efficient protection.
How to use it
In order to keep away mosquitoes from the room pour two drops of “Anti sharks” in your diffuser.
For complete protection and in case of species particularly aggressive or against other insects (fleas, ticks, lices etc…), spread from 2 to 5 drops of the essence with a little oil on the parts of the body threatened.
As first aid on the poisonous punctures of mosquitoes, wasps, spiders, poisonous fishes, jellyfishes, etc…, apply one drop of “Anti sharks” on the parts of the body threatened.
For allergies to pollens, dust, cats and acarus, breathe one drop of “Anti sharks” in a handkerchief and apply another on the neck.
In order to eliminate the acarus of the mattress, spray every week 5 drops of “Anti sharks” diluted in alcohol. In order to eliminate them from the carpets spray in the air a mixture (well shaken) of 5 drops of “Anti sharks” and half a glass of water, just after using the vacuum cleaner. This will make all dust fall down and will kill the acarus.
Warnings:
“Anti sharks” is not a medicine and does not replace the medical cures when they are necessary. Avoid contact with the eyes, if that had to happen, wash immediately with kitchen oil, NOT WITH WATER. Keep away from the reach of children.

I experienced the true strength and efficacy of Anti Sharks in person, during AbdesSalaam’s perfumery course. Upon my arrival in Italy, the mosquitos sensed my presence and honed in, as they do wherever I go. Being simultaneously allergic to insect bites, I sensed a difficult week ahead.
When I finally arrived at the Germano Reale and was introduced to the master perfumer, AbdesSalaam himself, I mentioned my allergy to him and he immediately sprayed me with Anti Sharks, one of the key formulas in his Aromatherapy line. For the rest of the evening, all insects kept a safe distance away and I was able to breathe. He even gave me a tiny vial of it to use during the course, which was very generous, given the price of the formula.
Another affirming moment with this blend occurred on the last day of class. While we were outdoors marvelling at the distillation of hops, I was sporting a mysterious insect bite that had developed into a feverishly large welt on my arm from the day before.
“Fatima!” came the lyrically deep voice that Salaam uses to address his daughter and his second nose. She appeared by our side carrying the Anti Sharks. “One drop.” He instructed.
I pulled my sleeve up and two drops came down on my swollen forearm. Destiny, as Salaam likes to call it (when an extra drop falls into your formula). I looked dubiously at the welt, thinking I needed a lot more than two drops. But like everything in ninja perfumery school had taught me, I learned to trust my teacher and his formulas.
The next day, I flew back to New York. After 15 hours of travel and a warm shower, I inspected my arm and couldn’t believe my eyes. The welt had transformed into a tiny red dot and the swelling had subsided. This, I knew, was the power of AbdesSalaam’s Anti Sharks. And the power of healing through natural essences.
