Description
I composed the fragrance for a Sufi Master of our time together with one of his loving disciples.
I then wrote the calligraphy of his name in his honor.
It is a blend of precious flowers (Tuberose, Jasmine, Rose) with the pheromone extract of the wild Beaver.
It is an intoxicating floral scent, a very classic bouquet of the noblest floral aromas of classical perfumery: Rose, Jasmine, and Tuberose. Three fragrances oppose the poetry of flowers, balancing both the bouquet’s exclusively feminine aspect and its ethereal nature. They are Styrax, with the smell of soapy human skin; Castoreum, with the aroma of leather and wildness; and finally, the sweet, enveloping Vanilla.
This perfume is also named Orientalissimo in Italy.

At first, I thought Attar Maulana would be a little too resinous for my liking but I was wrong. It opens with a beautiful and rich floral accord contrasted by the wild castoreum and resinous undertones. It’s sweet, deep, spicy, and gorgeous. Recommended.

Salam Alaykum,
Truly, this attar is the best I have ever smelled!
When I put some under my nose, it makes me so happy.
It’s also very good for prayer and meditation.
In the islamic tradition, it’s said that attar is the rouh or the soul’s nurishment and with ‘attar maulana’,
you truly feel it!
The calligraphy that comes with the attar is real art machaAllah and now I know the cheikh for whom this attar was made ‘rahimahou Lah’ may Allah have mercy upon his soul.

C’est un parfum pour homme, et surtout pour homme oriental. Car la polarité « fleurs-animal » est surprenante pour un Occidental ; cela ne fait pas partie de sa culture olfactive. On a l’impression ici que Dominique Dubrana a voulu faire un parfum pour un Oriental, en se mettant à la place d’un Oriental, pour en dégager en quelque sorte l’âme. Et lorsqu’on évoque l’Orient, ce n’est pas l’Orient exotique, romantique, touristique dont il s’agit, mais celui que l’on connaît lorsqu’on y vit tous les jours, avec ceux qui y vivent.
Au départ, c’est une sorte de « Fauve fleuri » qui s’impose : on sent la texture animale omniprésente (sans doute un mix entre castoreum et civette), veloutée, édulcorée, angélisée par les notes fleuries (narcisse très probablement, rose, tubéreuse peut-être). Après on s’imprègne davantage des tonalités fleuries, très délicatement camphrées et épicées, très légèrement résineuses aussi (probablement l’encens, peut-être le styrax aussi), subtilement fruitées (cassis ?) , mais toujours sous dominante animale.
Si on veut connaître l’Orient de l’intérieur (sans le folklore), c’est ce parfum qu’il faut sentir : on y respire toute la psyché (complexe, turbulente, mouvementée) du monde oriental.

My impression of this fragrance can be summed up in the word “joy”
It presents a sweet comforting base overlaid with radiant flowers but there is nothing cloying or sickly. It is genuinely a reminder with each waft of fragrance to be kind, generous, and accepting of others. For a touch of positivity this is my number one.
