Description
“Venezia, Giardini Segreti” is inspired by the “corti” – the courts of Venice that contain its secret gardens, hidden within the maze of the city – and particularly by the imaginary “Corte Sconta called Arcana” of the “Favola di Venezia” di Corto Maltese, first discovered in the recesses of Hugo Pratt’s mind, and illustrated by his hand.
“When the Venetians grow tired of the established authorities,” he writes, “they walk to these 3 secret places and, opening the doors that are in the bottom of these courts, they go away forever into beautiful places and other stories.”
The essences that recount these hidden courts, where the feel and smell of the sea are never far away, are Jasmine and Rose, of Italian aromatic herbs, and of Myrrh, the sweet resin which evokes the city’s ancient connection with the East.

This is the jasmine I’ve been trying to find for so long! ❤️ Not too sweet, not too feminine. Animalic, but perfectly wearable. The wonderful aroma of dragon pearl tea + ambergris. Magic!

I went with Abdes Salaam Attars – Venezia Giardini Secreti. This is primarily a jasmine scent, with a crisp green, indolic jasmine throughout. Also listed are salty, leathery, and lactonic nuances, but there is much more going on that what Fragrantica depicts. There are assorted supporting florals; I believe I get hints of both orange blossom and rose. There is a definite herbal aspect, but I can’t pick out exactly which herb(s). There’s also definitely a good amount of real ambergris in this, which adds a warm, musky aura, and is likely also contributing to the salty feeling.
Abdes Salaam Attar was a recent discovery (late last year), and I’ve been very impressed by the half dozen or so that I’ve tried so far. I’m very eager to explore more.

Pour expliquer la qualité de ses parfums, Dominique Dubrana rappelle la phrase: “Vos parfums peuvent être bons seulement autant que le sont vos ingrédients ». Oui, mais il faut savoir aussi (comme dans la cuisine) doser. Tout l’art du parfumeur est là.
Comme Tawaf ou Amber Oud, Venezia, vriaie composition olfactive, est remarquablement dosé, équilibré, mesuré. Dominique indique qu’il a utilisé ici le jasmin, la rose, la myrrhe et l’ambre. Jasmin et rose délivrent un parfum fort, capiteux, vite entêtant. Assez grasse, sirupeuse, comme réglissée, la myrrhe est vite envahissante. Quant à l’ambre, il a cette propriété (comme le santal) de se mettre en arrière-plan, de travailler dans l’ombre, de se fondre aux autres senteurs, de les rehausser, de les magnifier de l’intérieur en leur donnant du corps, de la texture, de la suavité, de la rondeur. C’est particulièrement probant ici avec le jasmin (conjugué à la rose) dont les notes aériennes, capiteuses et grasses, vite entêtantes, sont apprivoisées, adoucies et émondées, de sorte qu’on sort du registre proprement « fleuri » pour rentrer dans une dimension plus profonde, mais aussi plus subtilement masculine.
Comme la plupart des parfums naturels, Venezia est un parfum à strates, à étages, qu’il faut donc accompagner en chacun de ses développements.
Dès le départ, on sent le jasmin, mais contenu, arrondi par l’ambre qui l’épouse, l’absorbe et l’assimile, ce qui produit un floral doux et suave, sans pointes, sans accents, comme introverti. Ensuite, on pressent mieux la présence sous-jacente de la rose, en conjugaison avec le jasmin. Ce n’est que plus tard qu’émerge lentement la myrrhe sur la peau : une myrrhe légère, subtilement florale. Plus tard encore, lorsque le rideau est tombé, vient le fond d’ambre, associé à la myrrhe, qui reste persistante.
Venezia est un parfum qui peut convenir à un homme comme à une femme. Mais je le positionne personnellement davantage comme un floral élégant pour homme fin et raffiné. C’est une composition d’artiste.

I am always a Jasmine lover, Venezia Giardini Segreti by @laviadelprofumo feels crystally exquisite.
Beginning with a crispy green, cool mint and a hint of green tea scent, then gradually developed a luxuriant, slightly indolic jasmine, with a little honey rose to embellish white flower, swaying in a quiet garden with moist moss and herbs.
There is also a kind of milky musk from ambergris, close to nude skin touch and evoked a morning breeze.
This jasmine smells heavenly and directly brings happiness to my heart. Best of all, ambergris makes the flower scent more 3D, and with ageing, Venezia Giardini Segreti will be more beautiful and longevous.

Wow the perfume is so magnificent!
The jasmine and ambergris really jumped out at me. I cannot stop smelling it.
Even as I write this email the perfume bottle sits within reach.
The scent is enchanting, luxurious, beautiful and delicate while at the same time bold and confident.

Equilibrium.
This is how I’d describe Venezia Giardini Secreti. The perfect balance of jasmine and myrrh is impossible to dislike. Equilibrium indeed as no essence overpowers the blend yet fully expresses itself at the same time.
True to its name, this perfume evokes the narrow cobbled streets of la Serenissima and its alleyways leading to hidden gardens. A timeless scent with a somewhat vintage feel which is all the more enjoyable. I for one wasn’t much of a jasmine lover until I discovered AbdesSalaam’s creations. Clearer and less heady than the jasmine in Tawaf, this really feels like a sun beam caressing a red stucco facade and warming up your skin.
If you love jasmine, try it ! If you dislike jasmine, try it even more as I am quite sure you will end up asking for more !

It is a huge, beautiful jasmine that reminds of the sambac type, green-fresh, almost lemon-like, and then calms down in a pleasant, clear celer-jasmine note.’ Halfway through to the final stage, something strange happens, and jasmine goes into a very convincing gardenia.

I could not have been more blown away by this scent. I don’t feel I could have felt closer to the place the scent is meant to take you to.
I can say that it truly brings joy and that these scents are truly healing and therapeutic.
I can see the love and care and spirit that is put into creating these scents.
