Dear Salaam
no no Blackcurrant Absolute. thought that I might have got the description wrong…. my goodness Salaam …..there must be alot of sellers out there with huge pinnochio noses!!!!! I need pure oils….. save me…..
janitaCiao Janita,
it is not so difficult in the sense that when you have smelled the good quality and you compare it with a lesser one on the strips it is so obvious.
The difficulty in fact is to reach to the best qualities. Few have them because they are rare, more difficult to sell at a right price because they are more expensive.
I learned as first thing when I started the trade that the most important thing is a reliable font for top quality raw material. Perfumery is like cooking, with low quality ingredients you will never cook anything good. Only very hungry people will love it. But the people of means and culture will not accept them.
Perfume is for the joy of the soul and people of noble soul will love only noble perfumes.
The problem is to be able to buy as near as the production as possible, for instance I buy citruses, mint, laurel and many others directly from the producer, when they have a top quality.
I got my civet from the farm, and all other products from the seller who bought directly from the producer. This means a huge company, from the 10 biggest in the world, which is a supplier for Unilever and l’Oreal.
The problem there is that you must spend reasonably large amounts of money, which may not be reasonable at all to you.
You saw from my site that we do not sell the raw material essences, keeping in stock what we need for one or 2 years to compose our perfumes, but when I make a stock, 2 or 3 times a year, I call a number of people (you also know some of them from the groups) whom I know that they are interested in these raw materials, and I propose to them very reasonable quantities at professional prices for the top quality.
The payment is done in advance and I add to my order the amount they want.

I appreciate your thoughts and it echoes my feeling about buying at source…. In the past I have bought from suppliers who have been recommended to me from knowledgeable and experienced people in this oil world and who had been a great help in my start of my walk and have paid alot of money for these oils absolutes etc ( which I expect to for florals etc)….I have been very happy but lately I seem to have had a run of bad oils.. thus I feel pinnochio noses from sellers who should know better. I totally agree about finest and will always be on the search for this….and yes you can detect when it is so beautiful…I may stumble from time to time but always to pick up dust down and walk the walk…..that is why it took me 3 years to source my alcohol and a professor of botany to vouch for me….purity is all..and truth is beauty.. I think there is alot of adulteration in this oil world….it is like walking on egg shells…..one has to pick very carefully….(even Mandy and Anya have been duped ) and be on the guard… which actually is completely against my nature which is open…..but now……!!
Reliable trustworthy fonts….. vanilla sounds good and I look forward to March.
kind regards
Janita -
