Ambrette – Hibiscus seeds

Description

The essential oil extracted from the dried seeds of this variety of hibiscus has a scent similar to animal musk, sweet and sensual.

Extracted from a pleasant flower native to India, the island of Java, and the Antilles, it is also known in Egypt for its sweet and fragrant notes.

It is treated by distillation, from which an essential oil, improperly called ambrette butter, is obtained because of its pasty consistency, which is then diluted in ethanol to remove residual solid organic acids and the final product is called absolute.

The scent is extremely sweet and seductive, musky and sensual. Perfect together with rose and lavender heart notes or with various citrus fruits.

A precious ingredient for the preparation of enveloping and mysterious fragrances, it has a fortifying effect but should be used in minimal quantities given its ability to overpower any other aroma.
