Description

Vetiver (Vetyver in French, Khus in India) is extracted from the roots of a grass which is planted to hold the ground and stop erosion. Its earthy aroma has the capacity to connect us with the ground and helps us grow roots in the physical reality of the world.

Vetyver is therefore particularly suitable for “dreamers”, for intellectual explorers and sailors of soul-seeking journeys, over whom it will have the effect of lowering the gravity center, helping them to find their inner selves without losing touch with their physical reality.

In aromatherapy, the essence of Vetyver possesses marvelous soothing effects on the skin and is used to cure several skin diseases. Its aroma gives stability, confidence, and calm. Called the “oil of tranquillity”, Vetyver is one of the most important aromas to cure nervous stress.

Similarly to Sandalwood and Patchouli, the quality of decanted Vetiver oil also improves with age. The longer it ages, the better. Therefore, the extracted oil is allowed to age at least for 6 months to allow its greenery lighter fragrance to transform into deeper, fuller, and sweeter.
